STAR KIN

Star Kin come in two varieties: Starkillers, and Starkeepers. They are created in pairs; Never one without the other.

Starkeepers and Starkillers are two sides of the same coin. Keepers are meant to create stars and planets, and Killers are meant to destroy them. They are created in tandem, with the birth of one Keeper comes the birth of one Killer. Often times the two halves will be similar in shape, and opposite in color.

Starkillers are not necessarily "evil", and Starkeepers are not necessarily "good". Rather, the two should be seen as Yin and Yang, keepers of the balance. However, they are still beings of choice and emotion, and like humans, they are flawed.

STARKILLERS & STARKEEPERS

Starkillers are the destroyers, and Starkeepers are the creators. Starkillers can destroy stars, but cannot create them. Starkeepers can create stars (and therefore generate planets to surround them), but cannot destroy them. Starkeepers also cannot directly kill living creatures; They must rely on their Starkiller counterpart to cause harm.

Starkeepers are not inherently less powerful than Starkillers.

MAGIC

Each Starkiller or Starkeeper has a gem-like object that contains a personal pocket dimension. Many Starkillers and Starkeepers collect things from planets and keep them in their pocket dimension. Within the pocket dimension, time has no effect on any of the things inside, therefore making all "mortal" creatures effectively immortal, as long as they stay within the pocket dimension.

In the "mortal" realm, Starkillers and Starkeepers are invincible. Their body can be cut and pierced, and they may bleed. They can be reduced to a pile of ash, but can always reform. Their gem cannot be scratched, crushed, pierced, or destroyed. Even the most powerful things in the universe cannot cause harm to the gem.

Within their own pocket dimension, they can be killed. Because of this, a Starkiller/Starkeeper must be very careful with whom they let into their dimension. If they are killed, the pocket dimension will close and destroy everything within, and become nothing.

The only thing that can harm a Keeper or Killer outside of their realm would be another Keeper or Killer. If one defeats another, they may absorb the other one's power. However, if one were to absorb its twin, they would simply cease to exist. Therefore, there is no reason for them to go after their twin as a means to gain any power.

Each Starkiller/Starkeeper has a sigil near its head. The sigil will never directly touch their skin, instead hovering nearby. It is not solid material or touchable. The sigil can either be above the forehead or behind the head, similar to a halo. This sigil does not change shape, but may flicker or glow brighter/dimmer depending on whether they are using their magical power or not. This sigil can only be seen by other Starkillers or Starkeepers, and is meant as an identifier, sort of like a name. Each one has a unique sigil. Twin creations will have the same sigil, but reversed or rotated.
